Type CG manhole frame and grates are the same as a type AG, with webs added. In the past, webs were added for concrete installation. Today, with modern concrete materials, it is no longer required. Webs are more for appearance, and serve no real function. The webs do not add additional strength to the frame. A Type A frame is as strong as a Type C. Exceeds H-20 and HS-20 load requirements.
